To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best to make you everybody else, means to fight the hardest human battle ever and to never stop fighting.
E.E. Cummings, American poet
(1894-1962)

Cheri Cain

About Cheri Cain:
I began a new journey in 2004.  I realized that my health had gone downhill and like many Americans I was overweight, tired and depressed.  I began a journey to regain my health and ultimately my life.  Through the years I realized everything I thought I knew about health and diet was incorrect or outdated information.   In a world with so much conflicting information, it was difficult to make this journey.  When it comes to diet and health there are so many schools of thought and an avalanche of information available.  It was a very slow process, I wanted to change my life style not go on a diet.  Along the fitness road I stumbled into Yoga and it changed my life.  Yoga transformed my body by strengthening and stretching muscles as well as my ligaments.  In the quietness of Yoga practice I was able to still my busy mind and find a new found peace and joy.  I decided I wanted to share this with other people who were in my condition when I started the journey.   Out of that desire came Everyday Yoga.

I
went on to receive my 240hr Yoga certification.  This new awareness started my holistic journey.  From there, I received my Reiki Master certification so that I could practice and teach Reiki efficiently.  I also graduated from the Midwest Institute of Natural Healing; with a certification in Holistic Nutrition Counseling. Additional certification in Breath and Meditation from Arvind Zanje of India, was also received in 2009.

The journey for learning Holistic Healing and the connection between mind, body, spirit and emotions continues.  Along with a deep desire to help people and from realizing the importance of alternative therapies Everyday Yoga and Wellness Center was birthed. To increase our ability to help our clients on their wellness journey I went on to receive my CNHP(Certified Natural Health Professional).  By becoming a CNHP we are able to add Natural Health Services.

May Cameron

About May Cameron:

May has been a Hatha Yoga follower for more than a decade.  She completed the Chakra Balancing and Reiki I & II Courses in 2009, studying under Cheri Cain of Everyday Yoga in Blue Springs, Missouri.  May completed the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Class in February of 2010, studying under Darryl Olive of KC Fitness Link in Kansas City, Kansas.

May recharges and reconnects with self and family through nature; by hiking, camping, birding and rock collecting.  A favorite way for her to meditate is by playing her Native American Flute outside, watching the sunrise, followed by practicing a slow series of Sun Salutations.  In addition, May has a keen interest in how to incorporate crystals and essential oils into her daily life.

May’s style of teaching focuses on pranayama (breath control) and encouraging participants to experience the Lines of Energy available in every asana (pose).  She embraces the belief that the breath in yoga serves as a bridge between the mind and body and that the energy that we generate during active practice benefits our overall physical and mental health.

May fosters a non-intimidating, non-competitive meditative class atmosphere conducive for spiritual awareness and self reflection.

Callie Streich

About Callie Streich:

Callie earned her BA in Health from Graceland University and was trained in February 2009 through YogaFit in Ankeny, IA.  She believes in the Mind-Body connection that is present every day in everything we do.  Her style of yoga is Hatha - focusing on proper alignment of the body and how breathing relaxes the body and soul.  When our bodies are out of synch, so is our breath and posture.  There is something to be said about a balanced body.

All bodies are welcome.  Callie will taylor the session to your needs, showing many different ways to achieve the poses.  This is a slower moving class - meditative but also with a fitness focus.

Along with yoga, Callie enjoys playing with her son, catching up on the latest book, and sewing.

Remember: It's not about what the person next to you can or can't do.  It's not about what you can or can't do.  It's about where you are right now and celebrating what you are doing for your mind and body!

Anna Varner

Caring Hands - Anna Varner

At a time in her life when most people would slow down and enjoy the labors of hard work and a successful massage career, Anna has been re-energized!
Her passion for assisting in the healing and health journeys of her clients has increased.

Anna has spent years developing Caring Hands Massage Body Work Treatments.  Through her life of education and experience she has put together a style of massage that brings restoration and healing to the body.

In the late 80's Anna started with Swedish Message and then felt called to go into deep tissue work.  She has studied at MTTI, but then decided to continue her education at the Esalen Institute of California.  There she received extensive training in Trigger Point Therapy, Zen Body Balancing, Myofacial Release and Connective Tissue Release Techniques.  While studying at the Esalen Institute of California, Anna studied under the direct protégé' of Ida Roth.  She learned many of the techniques that were developed by Ida Roth known as Rolfing.

To be truly rounded she added Bellanina formerly Belavi Facial Techniques to her skills.  This technique works extensively on the sinus cavities and stimulates the facial muscles to encourage a lifting and lessoning of fine lines.

With expanding in to the wellness industry Anna is studying the lymph system so that she can offer lymph massage to her clients.

All of these techniques combined with two decades of experience have created Caring Hands Body Work Treatments.

Be sure to see our massage page for descriptions of services.
